Cuidados de enfermería en la fototerapia neonatal

Resumen: La fototerapiasa, según indica la misma palabra, es la terapia por medio de la luz y se utiliza cuando el recién nacido presenta ictericia no fisiológica o patológica. El neonato se coloca debajo de una luz fluorescente intensa, azul o blanca, con la finalidad de disminuir la bilirrubina en sangre (hiperbilirrubinemia) mediante foto-oxidación a través de la piel.
El objetivo de este artículo es conocer la fototerapia y las curas de enfermería que se han de tener en cuenta para evitar complicaciones y asegurar correctamente la efectividad de la terapia.

Title:  Nursing care in neonatal phototherapy

Summary: The phototherapy, like the same word expresses, is a therapy by the light and it´s used when a neonate suffers from pathological jaundice or non physiological. The neonate must be placed under the intensive fluorescent light, blue or white, in order to decrease the bilirubin´s levels on blood (hyperbilirubin) by using the photo-oxidation on the skin. The aim of this article is to know about the phototherapy and the medical cures that must be taken into account to avoid complications and to guarantee the effectiveness of the therapy, correctly.
