Bacterièmia zero: estudi dels objectius de seguretat durant un any. Unitat de Vigilància Intensiva.

Resum. La seguretat dels pacients és bàsica i imprescindible per garantir la qualitat en les cures d’infermeria, especialment en les Unitats de Cures Intensives. A partir de l’aplicació del projecte Bacterièmia Zero, basat en el compliment de mesures concretes per a la prevenció de les infeccions nosocomials relacionades amb els catèters venosos, a la nostra Unitat vam consensuar una sèrie de paràmetres per tal de millorar la seguretat del pacient. Objectiu: Estudiar les dades recollides en el període d’un any (octubre 2009 – setembre 2010) a fi de contribuir al desenvolupament de la cultura de seguretat, millorant la nostra pràctica assistencial. Disseny: Estudi descriptiu. Mètode: S’han utilitzat dos instruments d’avaluació: un qüestionari amb 8 ítems de resposta tancada (resposta sí o no) i un apartat opcional d’observacions on poder aconseguir més dades de diferents factors que poden provocar mancances en la seguretat del pacient. Els check-list propis del programa Bacterièmia Zero. Conclusions: El fet de posar en pràctica una iniciativa que valora diferents factors en la pràctica diària que poden induir a errors, és una estratègia imprescindible i eficaç a l’hora de garantir la qualitat en l’assistència del pacient.

Bacteriemia Zero: Study of the security objectives during a year. Intensive care unit.

Abstract. The patients security is essential and indispensable to guarantee the quality in infirmary care, especially in the Intensive Care Unit. From the application of Bacteriemia Zero based in the fulfilment of specific measures for the prevention of nosocomial infection associated with central venous catheter, in our Unit we agreed to establish a string of parameters with the aim to improve the patients security. Objectives: Study the data collected during one year (October 2001- September 2010) with the aim to contribute to the development of security culture, thus improving our assistance practice. Design: Descriptive study. Method: Evaluation instruments have been used: A questionnaire with 8 items of closed answer and one optional section where to obtain more data which can provoke security lacks in the patient. The project check-list of Bacteriemia Zero. Conclusions: The fact of putting into practice an initiative that valuates different factors in the daily practice which can lead to errors is an indispensable and efficient strategy in order to guarantee a high quality in patient assistance.
